Great-Granddaddy is 90!

We were blessed to celebrate Tim's Granddaddy's 90th birthday a few weeks ago. He is amazing! Still goes to work everyday and has an extremely sharp memory. We had a big party for him at the John Farm House, I think that about 150 people showed up. Tim has great genes. Believe it or not Granddaddy Sisson's UNCLE just recently passed away, 101 years old! Wow, and his sister-in-law, Aunt Ruby, just turned 95! Tim may be older than me, but I have a feeling that he will out live me!

Richmond Steam Show

Tim's granddaddy has a 1926 Erie Steam Shovel and every year we take it to Richmond to the Field Day of the Past. It is really a red neck event, but what can I say, we are rednecks. Here are a few pics from this year's show.

Ann Rae hates anything loud and steam engines are very loud.

Our little cowgirl!

This is it. It is actually very cool to watch. Tim got to run it a little this year. He said that it is harder than it looks.

Colorado

We just got back from Estes Park, Colorado and wow what a trip! For those of you that have never been to the Rocky Mountains, it is a trip definitely worth taking. The mountains are beautiful, but in my opinion our mountains are just as beautiful. The reason we went was for Tim's cousin's wedding. We had a great time, a short great time. We spent all day traveling on Thursday, and after driving up a 20 mile, curvy, steep road I became VERY ill. Friday and Saturday we got to site see, Tim went fly fishing and of course we had wedding festivities. Sunday we spent the entire day traveling, again. We are exhausted!

This was an elk in the downtown area of Estes Park. Ann Rae was nervouse posing in front of it. The things a mother will do to get a good picture!

We were walking back to our condo after Ann Rae went swimming and I thought the view was spectacular!

More Colorado Pics

This is a shot of the resort we were staying at.

Look at my little handsome man! This was taken at the wedding.

This is a shot of Tim's cousin Paul and his new bride Tolley in the meadow at Wild Basin Lodge. It was a really sweet wedding.

Our Gymnist!

Our little gymnist! She poised for me before one of her lessons this week, I have no idea where the #1 pose came from. I think it is cute. She is still really enjoying gymnastics. We are strictly doing it for fun, exercise and for the hope of better balance. (The girl falls 45 times a day!)

Look at these big eyes! This was after his bath last night, if you look closely you can see a brand new tooth coming in. 'Steak, here I come!'

Sleeping

This is where the phrases "Sleepin' like a baby" and "Catching flies" comes from! He was out!

Spencer swingin'

Just a swingin'!! First time on swingset and loved it.

Reading

Isn't this sweet? Ann Rae was reading to her baby brother. I love these moments.

New 'used' car!

We finally traded in our 2000 Ford Windstar and the 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee for a 2007 Toyota Sienna. It was a bitter/sweet day. It was sad getting rid of the jeep because it is the vehicle that we brought both babies home from the hospital in. Ann Rae was sad to get rid of the van but she likes the new van too. I love the new van. It has a lot less mileage and I pray it will last us at least 10 years. I like to drive a car to death and not have a car payment!

Dedication

We had Spencer dedicated at Church this past Sunday, Father's Day. It was a beautiful dedication, Spencer was an angel. Ann Rae on the other hand, couldn't stand still. We followed it with a cookout at our house. We got Tim the Nitendo DS Lite with the game Brain Age for Father's day.

Gymnastics

Well it is finally here. Ann Rae has been patiently waiting for weeks for gymnastics to start and she was not disappointed. I was surprised, they actually teach 3 year olds a lot. She goes Tuesdays and Thursdays and gets completely worn out. YEAH!!!!

last day of preschool and lake

May 22nd was Ann Rae's last day of 3 year old preschool. She was excited because that meant gymnastics was here. I am sad because I grew to love preschool, it gave her someone else to play with other than boring old momma!

Memorial day weekend at the lake. This is 'miss America' posing. She begged us to get the slip n' slide out all week and when we finally did she wouldn't go down it. nut.

Spencer's first time on the boat. I was too nervous to take him out into the water with all the traffic so we stayed in our little cove and had a picnic. He liked it, he slept like a, well...baby.

Mother's Day.

Aren't these pics funny. I love Spencer's expression. I couldn't decide which one was the best.

I had a really nice Mother's Day, even though it was cold and rainy and we didn't really do much. Tim and the kids got me a beautiful new mother child necklace with Ann Rae and Spencer's birthstones. I love it. After church we went to Panera Bread and then Books a million (Ann Rae choose). It was really nice family time. Then we came home and assembled Spencer's crib and had to rearrange furniture to make it fit, believe it or not, it was all I wanted for Mother's day. Actually we were supposed to go on a picnic, but the rain spoiled that.

Mom and Dad came over Saturday night and we celebrated with them having a cook out at home. When we go out to eat I tend to spend half of the time in the bathroom with Ann Rae (she always goes twice in restaurants) and the other half in the car nursing Spencer. Not much fun. It was nice to stay home and be casual.

On Friday we went to a local restaurant with Judy and Danny to celebrate with them. Yummy veggie pizza! We had a good time, and yes I spent half of it in the bathroom and in the car.

I do LOVE being a mom!!!

Happy Fake Birthday Ann Rae!

Since Ann Rae's Birthday is in August her preschool class celebrated it in May. I made brought cookies and grapes (Ann Rae's choice) and she got to blow out candles on the pretend cake. It was really sweet all day she was called the Birthday Girl.

New bed

It may sound aweful but we are just now getting Spencer's crib up. He has been sleeping in the bassinet, even though he is way too big for it. This is him trying it out.

finally

For those of you that are faithful in checking to see if I have added any pictures - thank you for hanging in there! It has been a crazy 7 weeks. Can you believe that Spencer is already 7 weeks old?!?!

This is a family pic taken at Sara's Rehearsal Dinner.

Ann Rae and Isabella. They only see each other twice a year, but when they do it is instant best friends. We miss her very much!

GO HOKIES!!!

Ann Rae is ALWAYS hugging on her baby brother. I think his expression says "Here we go again."

Easter morning.
